I appreciate the tip! I have been doing some independent study on Calculus I (I took it a few years ago) level math because I will be taking Calculus II and Linear Algebra soon enough.
The programming itself is a lot of fun, and I understand the significance of math in relation to programming, but I'm just not quite at the level where I understand how things like \alpha or \beta work yet. At the moment, I'm using a mix of Stewart's Calculus textbook and KhanAcademy.
