Doesn't unused/unreachable code pose a very very very small risk in the case of a buffer overflow or something similar?

I recently had to take a safety orientation online. The test had to be run in IE in compatibility mode with pop up blockers disabled. It was a simple slide show kinda thing followed by a multiple choice test. If only these businesses will modernize this kinda crapware.

Also Flash needs to die faster than it is. It had a good run but html5 needs to take over.
