Sometimes I wish reddit had the funny-vote option like saidit, but on the other hand, despite the potential for abuse, I think downvotes are an important option to have too.

I guess that's true. But I think most Americans (myself included) would essentially agree about our political situation being a mess right now. The *other* side's fault of course. But since he didn't blame a side, it comes across as fairly neutral to me.

I'm not sure I see what's "super partial" about that. I don't like locked threads any more than anyone else here, but I'm not seeing any particular bias.

You still can on old.reddit, no telling how long that'll last though. Edit: If you like new.reddit for some bizarre reason, you can also add controversial/ to the URL manually. It seems they've only changed the UI so far.
