I actually use Vim for the most part. I quite like it. Atom is fun to play around with though. Easy to write plugins/syntax highlighters for and so on.

Also, Atom > Sublime (yes, atom is basically a clone...but so much more - yes there are cons, oh well, go use emacs).

C# can be seen as Microsoft's attempt at Java. With your knowledge of C++ and Java, it shouldn't be too hard for you to pick up.
