I think the difference between then and now is that back then they were the counterculture. Also, with the civil rights movement going on and actual injustices and things they had things to fight. It's kind of like an "abyss staring back at you" type of thing. They've become the monsters they fought against.

r/Kotakuinaction is another sub that will cause you to get banned if you post there. I think the whole thing is stupid and I didn't know it was against the rules. I thought it was one of those things that was just accepted without question. IT doesn't matter much anyway though for me. I don't care either way.
