Comment on: Has anybody here tried running a PC/Laptop off a stand alone generator of any kind?
Don't worry about finding a "quiet" generator.
Save the 300 bucks and just get a regular one.

No.
But I plug a surge protector and power conditioner into the generator.
Then plug the trailer into that.
Never had any problem.

I got a 3500 watt generator that connects to my travel trailer and then it runs everything even the power outlets and a/c does that count?

Start learning a command line environment.
Get Ubuntu. Or even Dos.
