Comment on: /r/InsanePeopleFacebook mods doing their part to ensure people don't get to have certain opinions. Don't you all know that you're only allowed to think a certain way, especially when it comes to your opinion on Islam? Let's just call everything we disagree with "racist" and censor it.
So weird, people can't choose to be black, asain, white or whatever. People can choose there religion, and when parts of their religion has terrible aspects, that are viewed by a large amount of the people following the religion, they deserved to be criticized. Like I've completely missed when muslims became something nobody can criticize in the media- i swear it wasn't too long ago people were talking shit on how sexist muslim countries are and what not.

Comment on: /r/speedrun mods lock a thread about an all-female speedrunning marathon because the comments have "gone south." Look through the comments yourself. They're just people talking. But they aren't having the right conversation I guess.
It’s funny you say that because I’m actually trans-black. I’m white but I identify as black so I totally understand racism omg.

? It's actually a valid point. Guessing you aren't a women so you don't realize the constant harassment or special treatment a girl playing games will get if they realize you're a girl, it's pretty annoying. And it's definitely off-putting. Right now there probably isn't a lot of speedrunners who are female, and probably a lot who aren't good enough or something (i dont watch speedruns) to actually get showcased at the main event. But by doing an all female event, it guarantees a lot of these female speedrunners a chance to get showcased and therefor show that there are a decent amount of females into speedrunning, and then showing that might help make more women speedrunners so one day the main event could be more equal.

idk about speedruns in particular, but playing games in general as a female (if its an open mic game, and I use mic) I get harassed a lot, it's not rare in the slightest. Again, I don't really watch speed runs (only sometimes with my friend who likes them) but, it's in the gaming community so I bet there is more sexism towards women than you expect.
