Stupid question - but does C# replace the need for VBA in Excel? I'm very Excel/Access oriented so VBA has been my go-to for spreadsheet work. If C# gives me the same functionality then I'll start the transition.

I thought VB was already dead? I still get a ton of use out of VBA though for excel-related projects.

Yes - still on Eclipse. I'm sure there are better setups, but Eclipse is just what I'm familiar with.

Took me about a week. I've learned C previously - years ago. codeacademy.com was really useful - but I also installed Eclipse and did some experimenting along with each lesson.

Really appreciate the insight. I'm stratifying/parsing data from multiple excel files into one and VBA has done the job. That being said, I think I'll definitely add your suggestions to the toolbox.
