Admins could see the IPs, though I doubt they check that stuff unless someone suspects you're a banned person using an alt account. Also it would technically be against the rules if you were banned on one account and still commenting on the sub with another, though I am not sure how that works if you were never notified that you were banned.

If you've commented in a sub before, you will get a PM saying you're banned if they officially ban you. If you've never posted in the sub before, the only way to tell is by visiting the sub and seeing that you can't post or comment. There's also a secret way they can ban you. They can make the automoderator automatically remove any posts you make. The post will still appear for you and show up on your profile, but no one else can see it.

Yeah, I'm just glad that all of the subs that have banned people over this are places that I don't give a shit about.

Can you check to see if you're allowed to post comments on /r/blackladies? Since it looks like I am banned from there, I think they banned based on this script as well. I don't think there is any way to know how many other subs we are banned from.

Now I am wondering what other subs I am banned from, since you don't get a notification if you are banned from a sub that you've never posted in. I just checked a few subs and so far the only one I have found is /r/BlackLadies. I can't make comments or posts there, so they probably banned people from this list as well. If you look at my other posts, I posted a script called Trumpy that has all of our usernames on it. The History page of the script shows that it was created 2016-06-15 and it hasn't been updated since then. So most likely somewhere around that date they scraped usernames from T_D and labeled them all "active posters".

You're on the same list that most of the other people here are on. Looks like if you posted on T_D sometime before June of last year you got branded by some Trumpy browser extension and were probably shadow banned from their sub via the automoderator. Now I think they are turning the shadow bans into actual bans.

As far as I know, you can ban people who have never posted in your sub. Reddit just won't send them a notification about it. So what the mod was saying is that since he got a notification, he has posted in that sub before though it may have been years ago.

I got the same message. I don't believe I have posted there in years and I highly doubt that whatever I posted was against the rules. I think it's more likely that I got banned for posting a couple of times in AskTrumpSupporters, even though my comments there are mostly critical of Trump's actions.
