Comment on: Facebook now telling users that someone they know is becoming an extremist
If I'd know that Facebook would grow beyond that I never would have created an account in the first place.
The only regret I have about leaving the site years ago is that I merely deactivated my account rather than deleting it outright.

Might be more accurate to call it corporatism.

The idea of storing documents exclusively 'on the cloud' is absurd to me. If they have any value, why *wouldn't* you want to have access to them at any time regardless of the fickle nature of the internet?

I know. Apparently even Microsoft Office is a subscription service now and *why on Earth* does anyone need to pay a subscription for a writing program?

Comment on: Humanity wastes about 500 years per day on CAPTCHAs
It sounds bad when they phrase it like that, but making it sound as terrible as possible is probably the point.
However, take that 500 years, and consider that there are how many billions of people on the planet? So how much time does *each individual person* spend on CAPTCHAs? Because from a personal perspective I don't recall spending very much time at all. A couple minutes per year, at most, maybe?
Sounds like a lazy solution to the problem when they should just be putting more work into refining the CAPTCHA process.

> You really think all the banks banning Gab are doing it on their own and not because Pedo Joe and the democrats are blackmailing them into doing it?
I could see both. Some doing it of their own accord, some doing it because of pressure from the government, some doing it because of both.

And the hacker is talking as if 8 bitcoin is a minor price to pay.
Checking on bitcoin prices right now, it's at over $53 thousand dollars a piece.
That 8 bitcoin demand is equivalent to a ransom of over $424,000.
That's not chump change.
