Although bioemerl answer is right, it's about void pointers, which are a special case in the usage of the void keyword. Void pointers (void*) are a type of their own and have pretty much nothing to do with the keyword void in a function definition, even though they use the same word.

void is nothing

void* is a pointer that can be cast to anything (int*, char*, Potato*, etc.)
