Comment on: Fuck you.
I enjoy the insulting lies they usually add like "improved user experience" which usually means breaking the few apps you actually use.

Comment on: [Commentary] Support Encryption for Everybody or Place Your Faith in Government Snoops – Reason
Most of the encryption tools and secure messaging the public uses is compromised or not as secure as they think.

Not my daily driver, but it's the only one I could actually program to do some automated play stuff. Amazing player/tool that has a lot under the hood most don't even know about. They could have absolutely dominated a few years ago when codecs were a mess, but being a non-profit, their focus was different and ultimately better most likely. If you ever get a media file that won't play on anything else, this is the one you test with. Never failed on any legitimate file.

Of course they are, it's not even a secret. Look into the companies they're beholden to and how they move. Ridiculous and they need to go.

This shows you exactly how big data, banking and media are all in the pocket of elite's with $$$. Fuck em. I'm in on GME and buy through Fidelity and Schwab. I'm holding my shares on principal just to watch them bleed. THEY get to buy off hours, we don't. THEY get to insider trade, we don't. THEY get a pass on everything illegal, we don't. All their advice is geared to serve their interests. I bought bitcoins at $1 years ago, please educate me how bad it is that I made almost six figures when I cashed out. We have a window right now until they figure out how to get back to normal business of robbing everyone, take advantage of it.

He seems focused on providing service to everyone outside of current cable/high speed internet infrastructure. There is no competition at the moment for most of the country so this is what's been needed to challenge the cabal.

Couldn't be a coincidence Elon Musk launched another 10 satellites on the last record setting payload delivery of over 100 satellites total. If they don't trip him up, it could change the planet.

Comment on: AMD Ryzen 9 5900H 'Cezanne Zen 3' CPU Powered Gaming Laptop From Mechrevo Pictured & Tested
I almost pulled the trigger on Amazon for a "newest 2021 laptop" only to find it was marketing BS of course. The new AMD line looks to be the one to have for 2021. Nvidia is working with AMD on the graphics side to make that better than before as well. So we should see AMD/Nvidia machines at $999 for a 5000 series with a 3060.

Comment on: Intel Doubled Its Manufacturing Capacity In The Last Three Years
I wish AMD would double it's manufacturing capacity right about now. Zero interest in buying another Intel chip until I build a 5950x rig. No contest and F Intel for stalling the entire market for all those years.

Sounds a bit suspect to me, could be a lazy stupid parent, a predatory company (pick one) or a combination of both. They could easily implement a "cap" on spending like other services couldn't they? Wonder why they don't. :-\

Meanwhile their chicken is the weirdest the last few years. This is my wife's favorite since a kid and past few years, it's been a range of disappointments from a strange "orange" color (original recipe isn't supposed to be bright orange) and some of the pieces weren't exactly recognizable, which is disturbing. Turns out the conspiracy theories were right about a few things I guess. Can't imagine what marketing was thinking the ROI on something like this would be, but OK fun.

Comment on: US government adds DJI to Commerce blacklist over ties to Chinese government
They have excellent hardware, but their software tactics are beyond frustrating. Professionals wake up for shoots and find they can no longer fly in certain areas. The programmable modes suddenly don't let you fly below 24ft. Apple gets 60fps, but android only 30. The only recourse has been to flash custom firmware and you suddenly have your hardware back and can fly the damned thing the way you want and paid to do. So they're another typical money grabbing Chinese company that currently dominates the market. The Evo is the next best thing and it isn't there yet. All the rest are junk or DIY racing stuff which most aren't willing to deal with. Spying? Don't even have to look, it's too perfect. Chinese are building a better database every day these things are flown and know exactly who or what agency is doing what, where and when. I've seen every agency flying the specialized zoom capable P4s in my area. I hope this forces examination and ultimately change. If they go away, so be it, another will come along soon enough. Obama paid our enemies, at least Trump is doing something regardless of his motives.

Comment on: Tom & Jerry made 60fps using AI
"AI" isn't really necessary for this. Twixtor or native Premiere (Optical flow setting) will insert intelligent frames vs just doubling them through (frame sampling). I like it for some things but not for most. Our eyes are trained from a young age towards 24fps in movies vs 60fps for the "Soap opera" effect. This coupled with the "180" rule for shutter speed allows for a natural blur when there's movement.. Get these wrong and it's very noticeable or even jarring to some viewers.

Comment on: iPhone 12 does not come with power charger or earbuds in the box
Yeah, that's not F'd up at all. 2020, just when you thought you'd seen it all. There is absolutely zero justification that I'd accept for not getting a damn charger for a device this expensive. Apple margins just widened the gap even farther.

Comment on: PS5 IO System to Be 'Supercharged' by Oodle Texture, Bandwidth Goes Up to 17.38GB/s
I haven't owned a console since the PS3. Sony has been shitty to everyone for decades and now MS paid more for Bethesda that Sony is worth as a company. Over the next few years I think MS is going to be in a position to offer a lot more content. But knowing MS, they'll get greedier and screw up what made those companies successful, but it's still not good news for Sony unless they change their ways. Personally I loathe monthly fees and the inability to avoid the internet...my wife just likes single player RPGs and has zero interest in multiplayer games....so it's been a gaming PC for the past few years and she loves it. Upgrading to a 3070 will give her better performance and Epic alone giving away free games has meant $0 spent on AAA titles. Why would I buy a console today?

Comment on: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 European pricing revealed
$599 US seems pretty good....damn you Nvidia for making this pricing "normal" I'm leaning towards the 3080 myself, the extra $200 for what's likely to be 3 years seems worth it for gaming and maybe a little mining.

Comment on: Alleged GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card test leaks online - VideoCardz.com
I've been catching different claims too. It's looking like my 1070 is getting replaced no matter what, either with a 3070 or 3080. I'm just concerned about the space, I think the length is about the same, but did I read it right at 4.4 inch high!? Really don't want to replace my quiet case.

Comment on: Halt all encoding. H.266 is on the way or The end of encoding is the beginning of reencoding
As an editor I wonder how this will affect NLE software? Premiere has always had a shit render engine that makes working with multiple 4k H264/5 projects cumbersome. If this requires more processing power to play, it'll take even more to edit. Adobe only THIS year introduced GPU assisted encoding for H264.
