You are correct. No OS is completely secure. But a mac, as you pointed out, is one hell of a lot more secure.

We have one person in our company that uses a windows machine - the CEO. She refuses to switch cause she doesn't want to have to spend time learning how to operate it. Instead, she just has to have our support people fix it every few months wiping off viruses and assorted malware.

I permanently patched mine when I bought an Apple.
