Comment on: Thoughts on XML - possible extra shorthand for closing tags
Why not just move to json or yaml? Xml is just a pita.
Comment on: Are these many partitions normal???? WTF
Good chance that oem partition would let you do a clean restore. That would bey recommendation.

On a Linux server, that's totally reasonable (although, I'd rather see that across more than one or two spindles).
For Windows, that's a lot more slicing than I've ever seen.
Comment on: new to linux, i understad why to havew it, just not how to run it
Sorry to not be helpful, but what reasons for running Linux include running iTunes?
Comment on: Should I negotiate for higher salary if I have no previous work experience?
well I don't know your gender for sure, so I'm not sure that I should say anymore... how else to us men keep our $0.23 bonus!!
But since this is voat and we have no women here: lots of sites have it.
I just checked on glass door: you can punch in the job title and market that your are in and they'll give you a reasonable estimate. Remember that salary is only one aspect of compensation. Think about vacation time, work hours, commute, and other benefits. (eg, are you willing to take $5000k/year less for a stock option worth $5000? the answer depends on your financial position and confidence in the company. hint - no matter what your confidence is, diversify when you can!!)
Welcome to the patriarchy!

Check where you are relative to the market, if the offer is low, negotiate.
Comment on: The reason why Agile development fails.
There are many scenarios where agile fails; this one is only true if your product owner is incompetent. Plenty of agile teams reserve sufficient capacity to manage defects.
I think the bugs scenario is particularly likely to occur in large organizations where the developers are abstracted too far away from their customers.
Comment on: Looking for someone to work with me on a project in shell scripting (bash)
What you are asking doesn't sound too complex, but why do you want to do it in bash?
As a guy who has built Ajax services in bash, it's much more straightforward to handle a data structures like json with libraries than nested arrays. The amount of time you'll spend reimplementing (and testing!) existing, mature libs is painful.
Why do you want the workspace on the domain? It will affect how complex your solution needs to be.
If it's just user auth, then you can bridge your IAM auth to your domain. If you're doing advanced desktop management, you might find that it's easier to just manage the image and treat it as inmutable.
If you really need to be properly domain joined, I think you can give the workspace and address in your vpc where you have a domain controller.
And of course if you weren't talking about ad and just need a dns domain, you'll just do it all in route53
