Since this virus is new, highly contagious, and overburdens healthcare facilities, the best defense we have *right now* is to limit the spread as much as possible until a cure is known. We use the best defenses we have available for any given problem. By your logic, we shouldn’t be using our best defenses on anything since anything can happen.
