Comment on: What do you guys think of NASA's programming guidelines? Are they too strict or do they make sense when code correctness is life-or-death?

Boring code is maintainable code. I once heard the statement along the lines of "If the highest level of human intelligence was used to code something, how could a human ever fix it when it is broken".
