No you've missed the point. Its not racist to point out that people from a country share a characteristic. Especially if other people from the same ethnic group do not share that reputation. American and English tourists also have a fairly bad reputation but Canadian, Australian, and New Zealanders do not. I've never heard someone complaining about American's behavior be labeled as racist.

If I was a mod there I would have removed it too. Removing things that are barely even tangentially related to what the sub is about isn't really censorship.

I am actually really disenchanted with DNA tests accuracy right now. I was discussing the Warren thing with my mom and she asked to see the results of my Ancestry test. When I logged on the told me that they had increased the accuracy of their tests and narrowed down the results. The only major change was they narrowed down Southern European to Italian. I am not Italian in the slightest. When it was just Southern Europe it was accurate because i am Cypriot. So in a effort to be more accurate they miss identified my ancestry.

There was one guy a few months ago who is going around claiming that a small number of power mods who controlled hundreds if not thousands of subreddits were actually Muslims. Amongst the subs controlled by these power mods where most of the political subreddits and most of the European subreddits. I cannot verify that any of this is true but judging by how quick they are to protect Islam I wouldn't bat an eye if it came out that was all true.

because it is a containment sub. much like /pol/ on 4chan if it was ever removed it's population would spread. the same thing happened when although right was banned. having it so contained also males it easier to force special rules.
