iatrogenesis is a leading cause of death in the west, way, WAY more deadly than "seasonal flu #19". Where's our marches and protests for the hundreds of thousands who die in car accidents? Where's the outcry?
Such debates threaten consumption, and are therefore suppressed.

> As an obstetrician, I would rather deliver 1,000 healthy babies who develop asthma and diabetes in later life than deal with 1 intra-partum stillbirth. As a parent, I would rather have 1,000 children with a chronic illness than 1 dead baby.
modern medicine is consumer prostitution. a sick, demented child will consume medical interventions for the rest of his or her life. good for business.

Comment on: No bias at all - none whatsoever. (r/worldnews)
I personally believe no form of self-glorifying B.S. should ever be censored no matter how much I disagree with it, no matter how humiliatingly stupid it reveals the speaker to be;
that's the point, dingus. so that I know who's a complete waste of my attention.

Comment on: Short of boycotting, is there anything that can actually be done about the ludicrously biased moderation of popular subreddits?
I'll phrase it another way:
why do you want access to "interesting findings, big shakeups, and so on" in the field of so-called science? how do you decide who to trust to contextualize those types of articles for you? media platforms like these are great at generating content but terrible at generating context. we don't know the people or motives behind what content gets circulated, so we're like lost children, waiting for the next shiniest toy to come tumbling out of the production chute.
what I'm saying is you should be here to entertain yourself - not "inform" or "educate" yourself

Leaving the sub does solve something - it solves the problem of you being constantly exposed to badly curated content that wastes your time and attention. Find better subs.
You're basically your own moderator on Reddit. Prune the hedges. Cut out the crap. There are many, far better subs than "science" and whatever the other lame one you mentioned. You just first have to decide what you really want to get out of Reddit (hint: not the best place to "learn" about "science")
