Comment on: AT&T lobbies against nationwide fiber, says 10Mbps uploads are good enough
I want nationwide fiber. I see it like electricity or plumbing. It's one of the few areas that I think the initial construction should be paid for with taxes, and then they should allow anybody to utilize the infrastructure and create an ISP. This is how it's done in South Korea. It's the right blend of government subsidy and private competition. No wonder AT&T doesn't want it, it jeopardizes their monopoly.

Comment on: Parler.com returns online
Wow. The fact that they didn't put endpoints pointing to their own domain originally tells you how shit their engineering team is.

Comment on: UK says Big Tech is "manipulating lives", launches investigation into its algorithms
This is overkill. Everyone can hit refresh and see that they’re being manipulated.
The simple solution is to set up different tax structures for companies that show posts in the order that they were posted (from all subscribed channels) vs companies that do “curated” (censored) feeds. Charge the latter a LOT more.
You skip the investigation altogether, it’s extremely easy for anybody to hit refresh and show that feeds are “curated.”
