Comment on: I just spent 12h in Delphi trying to fix fatal bug. At the end I had to check almost line per line until I removed a '\' character from a string.

I once spent three hours trying to debug a javascript file before finding out I had forgotten to put a semi-colon at the end of a statement. I felt like I was going crazy.

Comment on: I hate my job as a web developer because there is zero creative thought. In what industry would I have the most creative freedom while programming?

This is one of the reasons I only take positions in small companies. Your opinion carries weight. You are paid to contribute and make decisions (like design), not to just code what you are handed.

Comment on: Is this a good sub for programming help?

I'd love to see code on this sub. Granted I'm a c# dev, so I may not be able to help with a specific c++ question :P

Comment on: [C#] Why can't I base an enum off UInt16?

Found this answer interesting and figured I'd share for any C#ers out there that might not've known (like me until recently :P).

Comment on: These Are the Highest-Paying Programming Languages (do you agree?)

The best advice I could give you is build a portfolio of sample applications that highlight what you're capable of doing. That way when you interview for a position, you can provide visual aid of what you are able to accomplish without having the "necessary credentials."
Then you just answer the questions correctly on the logic/knowledge portion, and you'll be fine.
