Early adopters are usually not so well adapted to socialization. I tend to be extremely blunt and type like I'm talking to other bitter, utilitarian, friends.
The secret to open source is to fully develop the project all by yourself then dump it on the community like a bad dog shitting in the middle of the living room floor while you're watching a romantic movie with your honey. A horse designed by committee always seems to turn into a camel anyway. Put it out there and let others deal with development and support.
