Ya, I just wonder what a 'good reddit citizen' is. I thought I was one, but I guess maybe not. I think they must be crazy or deluded to think this is what a mod should do. I get banning people for not respecting a sub in the sub, but... Oh well, maybe the admins will do something.

Thanks for the reply. I sent the first message and got the canned answer: changing things, new process, blah. I replied asking why I was banned as I even have positive karma in that sub (very infrequent poster), no reply so far. It seems like they are breaking the rules with these preemptive bans, I'd really like to know what inspires an idea like this, kind of scary if this was real life and not just reddit.

What did they say. I'm internet annoyed at my ban, mostly just think it's a bad sign for reddit (I really don't want to go to 4chan for free expression, I like moderating trolls and BS). Maybe somehow reddit can become the perfect echo chamber, is that the goal?

Yup. What a shit show. I checked blackladies and off offmychest - I've never posted there but am banned. I posted at s4p, donald and politics during the election, I would have posted at hillary too, but that sub was boring. I guess I shouldn't have posted at TD, it was wrong of me to express my opinion (or have a laugh) I'M SOOOOO Sooooorrrry.

Just got banned by r/TwoXChromosomes as well. I post a lot of places, and am fairly mild mannered and centrist, liberal, classically liberal with a dash of conservative at times. I think my posts at politics and Donald, mostly during the election reflect that. Wonder why I got a ban. I replied, I guess we will find out. Edit: I made a post there a long time ago, too lazy to go find it but well over a year ago; also karma is positive from that sub. Edit 2: From mod team: 'We apologise that you were not informed when you were banned originally. We're changing how we operate. These out of date ban messages are an unfortunate side effect.'
