Comment on: Learn to code with interactive challenges (little project I've been working on for the past six months)

Same here. I'll check this out in a couple of days! (Note to self: hey stupid, check this out.)

Comment on: Should I negotiate for higher salary if I have no previous work experience?

This is not always true. I also have done years of hiring. When someone is BRAND NEW out of school, I'll happily pull the offer if they throw a big stink about salary. 1) they have no experience 2) they are unproven 3) it shows me they would be willing to jump ship at the next highest offer. 4) they are basing it off what they think they should make based on the internet. I will only negotiate with people that have leverage. And a recent graduate with no experience or other offers has shit.

Are you just going in assuming you need to ask for more? That's stupid. You need to look at work life balance, benefits, company size, advancement opportunity, and what the average for a new person in the industry is. Generally, your first job you take what you can get, you have no real value yet. Or you better have multiple offers.

Just looking for the broad overview. It's how I like to learn. @eagleshighIsMuslim /@antiracist explained it very well. Not that complicated. I'm sure actual APPLICATION is much harder, but all I needed was a broad overview to conceptualize the whole process in my mind.

Thanks for the tip.

Dual, BUT I hooked it up to a single out on my old motherboard and same problem. It says something to the effect of "resolution for display needs to be xxx by yyy". I forget exactly, been a few months. HOWEVER my monitor IS at the proper resolution. I tired it with three different ones. It was very frustrating. I gave up trying to get it to work. Like I said it has worked great on other computers but the AVERAGE person just wants it to work without having to tinker, and if linux can't get there it will never be highly successful. Android is a perfect example, it just works and people don't need to tinker.

I've had several computers with linux, but I tried to DL cinnamon onto my custom desktop a couple months ago. It REFUSES to accept my monitors and I can't see the screen every time it loads, which means I have to power it down and load back into windows. It also did this with mint. I gave up trying to get it to install. Until the install process is better for the average person, it will keep being a very tiny fraction of the market.
