Comment on: Why SAAS or anything "cloud" is unforgivably foolish

Based on the terrible shitstorm of crap that is Adobe Creative Cloud (required for at least the install/updates of Adobe subscriptions) they're doing these users a favor.

AMD is going to be verrry happy with all the new custom hardware builds.

It's a fundamental hardware redesign. It's going to take motherfuckin' years.

New PC doesn't matter since all the chips post Pentium are affected. Try AMD. :)

This one was lazy opportunism, not malice. It wasn't even exploitable until hardware had evolved to sufficient speed to make the exploit practical.

Comment on: Hadoop: The Future of Big Data in the Enterprise

First time I saw Hadoop was at least 5 years ago when a very smart Finnish friend of mine recommended I check it out for data science.

I never did. Instead I picked up Python...which is taking care of most of what I need at this point WRT data science. (It's also much easier to find someone who knows Python.)

Try not to drop all of us into the same bucket. Some of us are on your side. I abhor the goog and cuckbook as much as the next goat (plus a few you probably don't know about).

Comment on: Why Silicon Valley is worried about US plan to curb Chinese funds

China's gov't makes a list of tech they want to build, then they send their spies out to acquire it. These days, it's probably cheaper to throw dollars at the problem rather than people because we're aware of the games they're playing. There is quite a lot of FBI educational outreach on the topic if you're in the right industries...

Yeah, it'll probably hit the market, but I don't give a fuck...this will be better for the US overall and the game will be harder for China to play.
