Comment on: Gab Faces Financial Blacklisting, Says Efforts to Build 'Free Speech Internet' Won't Be Stopped
Benefit of the lower power consumption thus reducing heat energy generated out weighted the increased cost of the drive itself.

>Big Brother does not exist, nor do the stewards care.
Not sure if I fully agree with that take. If you're simply saying, we're not being censored like we'd otherwise be on other platforms then sure. If you mean the 'big tech' or the government, then I disagree. Ruqqus has already been kicked off one hosting site, and regardless of the site, the government is sucking up every bit of data it can possibly get. (I just wonder how much the NSA spends each year and has spent for SSD storage)

Comment on: Microsoft planning for significant UI changes to Windows - The Verge
Yeah but some of the new UI removed functionality, which hopefully will be there if they remove the control panel. My biggest issue with the new UX is how "clunky" things feel with it, mainly due to it being considerate of touch interfaces. This costs a lot of screen real estate. Then for whatever reason, you cannot have more than one Settings window running at a time (currently), meaning if you need to change something but reference somewhere else in the Settings app, you're doing a lot of jumping around.

Comment on: Windows 10 Control Panel gets another nail in its coffin
MS is making the Surface still, so I'd say so. There also seems to still be a decent amount of laptop-tablets. I've had a Surface and actually liked it, but I really didn't find many issues with using touch for normal windows UI. Their touch prediction is actually pretty good imo. I have a Razer laptop that has a touchscreen, and I'm actually surprised how much I use it for simple stuff (like closing out a msg box, or window) instead of using the trackpad.

Comment on: Windows 10 Control Panel gets another nail in its coffin
And it's clunky. What would be like a 500x600 window to view, is now full screen. I get they're doing it for touch-based devices, but it's still awful for everyone else. Especially if you're administrating these devices. I feel like in future updates that fully remove the control panel, someone is going to make (and prob sell) a program that functions the same thing, as correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like all the control panel really does is edit the registry.

Maybe I'm starting to actually get old, but I **hate** the settings app. Need to work on two different parts of settings? What to open more than one window of it to do that?

Comment on: iRobot Announces Major Software Update, Shift From Pure Autonomy to Human-Robot Collaboration
I feel like the title of the article (and this post, which I get was just grabbed from the article) is somewhat misleading. They're just saying people want to control more of where the robot goes, I don't see how this an issue for the company per se.

I wonder if ruqqus would ever host their own server, I think (or at least use to), Twitch chat could be access thru IRC.

It says I've visited the site more than 3500 times, I only joined ruqqus a little over a month ago.
edit: thus I'm hoping that something is pushing that number up (that isn't me haha, otherwise, I think I have a problem lol)

Decided to check out ruqqus' encryption and found something that I hope isn't accurate.

Wow. idk how I had not heard about this until now. Read the article, I really cannot understand the thinking of people who claim they want everyone to be treated equally, in that race/sex/nationality/orientation/etc isn't taken in consideration, hate meritocracy.
