Yeah, and the US is over there fighting ISIS to help them. At the same time the Right are trying to enact travel bans that would prevent them from somewhere safe to live and the Left are opposing that.

For the most part they support the people fleeing from terrorists trying to kill them, not necessarily the religion. If Christians were fleeing their country from war you'd see them supporting them also, just not their religion.
