Comment on: Linux Outreachy Program pays women $5000 to make trivial whitespace changes

It's probably just for tax reasons. They probably can write off more on their taxes if they give useless jobs to people. They probably think they are helping someone while also saving money that would have gone just to the government otherwise.

The new thing would probably be "thinkers" someone intelligent and creative enough to come up with the idea necessary to get something done.

People always say an idea is worth nothing, but I think an idea is worth everything. There are few good ideas out there and it's hard to come up with a good idea.
