IIRC they released teh sauce after the recent announcement to retire the SaaS portion of their business model. So you could always set up your own VPS?
That would be because the prices they use are based on AWS pricing. Which is cheap to get started but they really bill you when the usage goes up. You could probably find a cheaper provider and get your own VPS with a fixed monthly cost and go from there.
