Yes, but you're cucked in the first place if you're going to Reddit. Any place that becomes mainstream popular will cuck you.

This is a good thing to remember

In Reddit's case petty and arbitrary rules policing is how the oligarchs exercise power. In the broader world well much the same just with stiffer consequences.

The iron law of oligarchy is seen over and over again in history. We shouldn't need someone to spell it out for us. There's always a need to tear it all down from time to time. We don't need to start completely from scratch though and go back to subsistence farming or something. To me that's the entire point of the Trump train. It's almost like his incorrect hairdo is the perfect icon for the exercise. Who thought anti establishment hair would lead the way?

I enjoy this fellow, he's very articulate.

He is also very correct regarding technical debt issues.

Great writeup Bryan, love the Orwell comparison in there! Don't ever back down from the PC language and thought police.

On a related note, I am a senior dev and am lucky enough to be at a company where this crap doesn't really happen. Sure there's technical debt, but every time I tell my boss I'm fixing it, he doesn't seem to mind and understands it's a worthwhile investment. One possible difference is that everything I write is only used internally and is never seen by the outside world.

Thanks, I appreciate it!

The way I've dealt with the problem is dedicating myself solely to high-paid contract work, focusing on off-site work.

It's just too inconvenient and expensive to play politics with an engineer who is a thousand miles away and is being paid $100 / hr.

However, I'm sure that's not the only way! Once you get to senior level, I've found a lot of these new possibilities open up.

Cheers and thanks!

Is this supposed to be object oriented or not?

Cuck-Oriented Programming - more widespread than we might think!
