I'm curious as to how much this hurt the mass exodus from Reddit. Did new uses end up bouncing back? Or has the avalanche already started?

There was a major period of 3-4 days where a lot of new users signed up, and over the last week the rate of acquisition has gradually been dying down. I'm extrapolating from the analytics dashboard on the Vulcan app, so take it with a pinch of salt. I don't think the avalanche has really stopped though, it's just slowed down a bit, as I'm still getting around 10x more users each day than I was before The Event.

That was an insightful read. I learned a bit about the inner workings of Voat. Also that it's not ready for another order of magnitude growth... yet.

Popover on trying to read, closed the tab and stopped reading.

Please please please do not do that. I use an RSS feed reader, and grab feeds of blogs that have content I like. It's simple, it's unobtrusive, and quite frankly content like this is something that I would read and enjoy.

But popovers kill it for me. Please reconsider that. You've lost (or rather, not gained), at least one user.
