"Agile insanity" is convincing yourself that you have a great team while in reality the good developers ran away.

I keep on hearing that Agile/SCRUM means "team work" and when we have a "group thinking" then everything will be glorious. I hear many references to group sports like football.

Now is the question:

  • Do you actually think that your best developers would stay in you team when that teams sucks every single project?
  • Do you really think that your best developers will stay in this team when a burn down graph every single day tries to make them feel like losers?
  • Since when did NERDs become social and have a group mentality?

Agile/SCRUM teams tends to become below averaged developer teams. The good ones already escaped to better job, and you end up with bad ones are trapped into your team with no hope for anything better.

I've seen agile/scum work OK, but to your point, I've never seen something jaw-dropping come from it. The tech cult in silicon valley has decided it's The Best Method though so everyone will continue to use it until they start a new, more profitable trend.
