Microsoft already ruining GitHub

Almost all of github.com used to work without JavaScript enabled. Now the Pajeets at Microsoft seem to be switching the frontend over to using client side templates, piece-by-piece. You can't even see the latest commit with JavaScript disabled now. No doubt it'll get worse as they continue to Microsoftize things just for the hell of it.

Javascript was required on github before Microsoft announced the acquisition, and the deal hasn't closed yet.

How was it "required"? I've been using it with javaScript disabled for months and it's only just become unusable in the last few weeks.

The latest commit and all the file change dates load via JavaScript. Without js, it's only a list of files.

That's why I set up my own instance of GitHub CE on a private server. Fuck Microsoft.

Yeah, I use GitLab when I have the choice -- but I'm still forced to use GitHub sometimes when the choice is not mine to make...

GitLab renames Master role to Maintainer, saying "It removes the negative connotations that may be associated with the term 'Master'."

Who cares though? GitLab is mostly open source and self-hostable, unlike GitHub.
Believe me, I know all about GitLab's degenerate antics. A few months back they had a post-receive hook that printed a huge gay pride flag in your terminal after every

Get the feeling you don't know what you are talking about

I have JavaScript disabled be default and only whitelist sites that I use that need it. It worked before, now it doesn't. What do I need to "know" before talking about that....? You fucking prick.

GitHub was ruined long before that!
It was always a bad idea, from day one, to trust one centralized corporation with hosting all FLOSS code - centralization is the enemy of freedom.
And they've done many evil things long before Microsoft, including political censorship, but worst of all was when they started inserting "Net Neutrality" (commie government control of the Internet) propaganda banners over everyone's code...

hopefully everything still stays the same

Github is long compromised, do not use it.
