They say if you complete their 800 hours of training and then 800 hours of volunteering that you will get a job. As someone who wants to go from zero to somewhere in the CS field is this for real?

If you had 1600 hours of coding experience, I would hire you for cheap too.

Well, they don't seem to be asking for any money. But how do they know they have 800 hours of training? That seems weird. It's probably a bunch of projects you have to do. Which, depending on the projects, could very well land you a job.
