What are your opinions on the new CLion editor by JetBrains?

I've tried it out and the CMake integration is pretty cool, though admittedly I would not be using it if not for the fact that I can get it for free as a student.

I'm happy with QtCreator. I'm not even interested in moving to a different IDE for C++/Qt development, not only because only supporting CMake is not enough for a commercial product, but also because it's not free (While I don't make any money from the stuff I code). On top of that, what I saw in their videos wasn't really impressive.

I was used to primarily programming in visual studio before I tried CLion, and I really liked the CMake integration in the actual IDE but I found the debugging tools kind of lacking compared to visual studio. Because I am a student I am able to get Visual Studio and CLion both for free, but if I had to pay for one I would probably lean towards VS because it just feels better (assuming the price is similar, because I don't know the costs off the top of my head). Hopefully CLion matures more and becomes better because I really do like the core of it.

Yup, that is pretty much how I feel. While the idea of CMake integration is pretty cool and makes things such as cross platform development and linking of libraries simpler, the IDE itself is lacking some basic features.
