Open database of countries and cities needed!

I was wondering is there anywhere an open database of countries with at least their couple big cities (not just capital cities) ? Preferably in CSV format, but any [something] separated list would do :D

Wonder if there isnt something you could get from the USPS site or somewhere similar. Might have to pay though.
