I can't wait for github to die in a fire. We need to send a message. This sjw bullshit will not stand.

I wish this was OC instead of an article because I have questions. How is the community there? I put code on github not to host code because I have servers. I want the exposure and the community, also portfolio. I want people to download my projects and create issues if they exist. I noticed GitLab seemed very.. developer oriented. It seems more like it was for people that need git for version control rather than the main motivation being sharing.

I want to hate github but at the same time I do want project exposure.

Can someone tell me why we hate Github? I must have been asleep for a while.

Gist: Its being taken over by gender politics and sjw. Some time last year there were controversy over popular repositories having gender pronouns updated (eg https://github.com/joyent/libuv/pull/1015/files). There are even PC guidelines on code. You will have to do some googling.

If I remember correctly this was the time when StrongLoop was on the fence about whether to back IO.js or not. Eventually StrongLoop decided enough was enough (with Joyent calling Ben to be fired, the guy who wrote 28% of libuv, over a pronoun)

I'm glad Joyent got their asses whooped and had to submit to Node.js Foundation deal. Fuck them.

retarded, luckily I was already using bitbucket

I got no problem if someone wants to invest time fixing pronouns and shit. My problem becomes when I'm FORCED to care about that shit or suffer actual real consequences like getting my repo locked. My app, my rules, don't like it then suck my cock and fork that bitch.

Seriously unbelievable that they're dissecting code and documentation to bitch about pronoun prejudice.

Hmmmm, if you have a repo that has been forked your code is still all over github.

I would add in a step to just delete files and leave a read.me with a link to your public bit bucket location.

I was going to say that you could just use the open source code, but realized that shit isn't open source.

Fuck that place

I've been using Amazons AWS CodeCommit. A little faff to set up but the cost is very reasonable.
