There's a guy over in /v/IAMA ATM claiming to write cryptography programs for the U.S. Gov.

Do you guys feel like asking him some technical questions?

His post reads like a stereotypical paranoid delusion.
I find it hilarious that people seem to believe him, even though he's offered absolutely no proof, or even any evidence that he is involved in what he says he is. I almost think people just want to believe these sorts of things these days (like governments are the most corrupt, evil things in the universe, and they are watching every single move every single person makes, for nefarious purposes). Sure, things are fucked up right now, but I don't know if they're as fucked up as some people seem to want to believe. Or maybe they are? I don't really know.
Edit:
Added to my spiel a bit.

I posted proof in my last AMA.

Did you? Can you link to it then? I'm not just going to take your word for it. This is the internet. I can make shit up too.

I went through a good bit of the thread but not all of it and it seems that the proof was deleted (with good reason if true) and the commenters at the time seem to have seen and believed the proof provided before deletion. But yeah still, coming to this thread not having seen the previous AMA before it is hard to trust this on its face.
I want to believe.

Then you should be wary of confirmation bias.

Very much so.

I remember a censored pic of an ID card (Air force I think?) on digital camo clothing. Not proof in the sense that matters.

Indeed. That is only evidence at best. And not even good evidence.

But deleted it, so that is moot, unless someone has an archive.is link or something? I doubt you're willing to provide the proof again.
Edit:
Not sure why I replied twice to the parent comment. This really should have been part of an edit to my first reply. Brain farting today.

The archives have been deleted. (Or should have been at least.)

Well that's pretty convenient.
So you have no proof, is basically what you're saying? Then I will be taking everything you say in this matter with at least a dozen grains of salt. But I usually take everything on the internet that way.

Type the link to the first ama into google. You might find some answers there.

Because those things are mutually exclusive.

I have/had a TS/SCI clearance, poly and all. There IS no big secret. The most troubling thing about the governments programs is how little of a shot the public gives about them.
Just check the John Oliver Edward Snowden interview. It sums up the problem. We don't have the government we need, but fuck if we don't have the one we deserve.

The most striking thing I learned is that the politicians straight up lie on TV and nobody cares. I mean straight up lies they know are lies. Some of them are things journalists have to know, but they just don't give a shit or are told not to report on it.
Every once in a while there will be a leak, like the Benghazi video bullshit. In fact, the Clintons lie a lot. Most of it can't be proven because the information is classified, but they lie.
