Comment on: Mod of r/woahdude deletes comment thread, posts the same comment themselves, and won't explain why.
So after some himming and hawing about logic he claimed to have "nuked" the thread in its entirety because he was too lazy to individually remove the offending comments (notably the top rated reply to the removed thread as it was deemed an advertisement). I didnt read much else. [Comment](http://www.reddit.com/r/assholemods/comments/bupa7o/mod_of_rwoahdude_deletes_comment_thread_because/epfhdej)
Also generally speaking I can sympathize that modding takes a lot of effort and nuking a thread is a lot more efficient even if its wrong. Id suspect with this approach combined with the status of reddit/online communities as a whole could explain a lot of the posts in this subreddit.

Comment on: /r/The_Donald has been shadowbanned. It is completely unsearchable on Reddit and is supposedly also being throttled on Google.
I agree with all but your last sentence. I think you're looking at it wrong. It's ok to believe that someones fetish for getting your dick stomped is wrong(and frankly imo would be mental illness and shouldn't be encouraged), but silencing them from voicing their opinion prevents any conversation that helps both us and them in understanding how they feel and helps us have the conversation for why we feel its wrong.
So in this case, you shouldn't let them silo themselves and be happy, but rather to let them share what they think and feel so that we can learn something instead of vilifying them.
Now with all that said, how would you treat a community of pedophiles?
And just to play devils advocate, were we even having the conversation in t_d or did we already segregate *us* from *them* and encourage an echo chamber and by banning the sub actually encourages the conversation in a more equal setting.
Edit: added "of pedophiles"

Comment on: The /r/WorldNews mods encouraged associations of the NZ shootings to white people and the right. How incredibly strange that they're censoring the shit out of the Sri Lanka thread where people are relating the shootings to Islam not exactly being a religion of peace.
I'd say they are. They're suppressing conversation and in the long run, they will win.

Comment on: /r/WorldNews mods are on damage control trying to ensure the same sentiment that saw all white people being blamed for New Zealand isn't applied to blame all Muslims for the Utrecht terrorist shooting. Gotta push that narrative. Censor away the wrongthink until only your personal opinion remains.
He was making a comparison to the similarity, rather, in your own words, the same level of hatred seen in both comments yet one comment is presumably removed and not the other.
