Comment on: You Should Know how moderators can abuse Reddit's algorithm to get their posts to the front page.
According to [this blog post from last year](http://ryancompton.net/2016/08/07/upvotes-over-time-by-subreddit-or-why-the_donald-is-always-on-the-front-page-of-reddit/):
1. Ranking on reddit is determined using a combination of upvotes, downvotes, and the age of the post at the time of each vote
2. Thus, the best way to get your post to the front page is to upvote aggressively when the post is very young
Therefore, knowing when you have no current posts in r/all/hot is important to gaming the system.

It's a way of controlling the narrative.

This is very interesting. I also liked your thread that estimated words per minute. Keep it up.

I agree. All this astroturfing is poisoning the well of political discourse.

I'm a little late to this party, but I agree.
I have close friends and family that are Republicans and Democrats. They're all good people. All of this online astroturfing poisons the well of political discourse. You're right, it's getting impossible to talk to people online. And it's making things worse in the real real world. All the shit-stirring is making things worse.

Yeah, some of the anti-Trump subs are kind of suspicious of him.
