Comment on: Germany’s national healthcare system adopts Matrix
For the messaging part they use the same encryption protocol as signal to my understanding but yeah metadata is all data raped by Facebook

Comment on: Use DuckDuckGo Extension to Block FLoC, Google’s New Tracking Method in Chrome
This is a very “under new management @ moment when Google replaces cookies lol

Comment on: Apple’s M1X Specs Sheet Shows a 12-Core SoC, 16-Core GPU, With Support for up to 32GB RAM & More
I'm curious to see what Intel looks like in a few years. I never thought I'd see them hurting in the desktop space the way they are now

Comment on: A Private Alternative to Google Maps: DuckDuckGo Maps
They are privacy focused, is it as private as running all those services yourself? obviously not. But they've done more at pushing privacy then any of the big tech companies. As far as Apple maps goes, I've been using them for almost 2 years now, it's replaced google maps for me. Having said that I've heard in some countries it's not as good

Comment on: Brave Is Launching a Search Engine to Take On Google
I'd just like them to get the full sync feature working across devices (especially iOS). I'd also like to send tabs between devices

Comment on: A question for the guild about smartphones
And I"ll probably get downvoted, but I rely too much on my smart phone to just do away with it.

Comment on: A question for the guild about smartphones
Personally, I went with iPhone. Apple has shown more care towards privacy then Google. I could've gone all in on privacy into Linux based phone which would've been better privacy wise, but I just don't have the time to be tinkering and what not for all the stuff I do. It also helps make things easier for managing things with my wife and mom

Comment on: Parler CEO John Matze has been fired
Yeah this has been my main point for some time now. Gab, ruqqus, parler etc. shouldn't carry the "right wing x". It should be first and foremost free speech platform.

Comment on: Wikipedia launches new code of conduct that bans "false" info and "trolling," encourages preferred pronoun use
Is it almost as filled as wikipedia? Problem I have with most alternatives is that they don't always have anything

Comment on: Apple CEO Tim Cook says targeted Facebook ads are 'manipulating' people as he defends privacy update
I don't agree with Apple removing Parler (assuming that's what you're talking about). But they removed it because Parler didn't want to stop people from spreading violence (BS reason imo) but not related to privacy to my understanding

Comment on: Brave Browser Integrates IPFS
used to have a raspberry pi, had it as my unifi controller too, but ran into so many headaches with it. Might have to refresh and startover SOME DAY lol

Comment on: Brave Browser Integrates IPFS
I was using Brave, but stopped because of lack of container support. IS it necessary with the built in ad tracking?

Comment on: Brave Browser Integrates IPFS
I really want to switch, but the biggest thing holding me back is container support.
