Comment on: Semi-beginner here, is there a good place for me to get back into it?

I know nothing about arrays, so that's definitely new to me.

Java might not be terrible, since I'm already semi-familiar with it. I just don't like the idea of having a .jar file when I'm done, as opposed to being able to make an .exe. I know there are ways to do it, but it's not a native Java thing, right?

Yeah. Having spent over a year doing assembly, I'm familiar with a lot of the basics. What I wasn't familiar with, my intro to Java course helped fill in. We stopped right before we were going to get into interesting stuff I hadn't done yet, unfortunately. Like arrays.

In terms of speedrunning, I didn't necessarily mean TAS stuff. I meant more like developing tools that I and other speedrunners could use to help record our runs, or practice them.

I'm definitely gonna have to bookmark that. The beginner stuff on C++/DirectX and Python seems infinitely useful. Thanks!
