You do realize the US is actually saving money by giving military aid to Ukraine? All of the old equipment we are sending over there was mothballed anyways and it would cost the government more to decommission it than it costs to refurbish and send to Ukraine. Not to mention the intelligence gold mine of being able to analyze how our stuff performs in combat without putting American lives at risk.

I know this is kinda unrelated, but just FYI the $60bn in aid to Ukraine isn't like a transfer of funds or something similar. The vast majority of that aid comes in the from of old US military equipment that was sitting around waiting to be scrapped. It actually ends up being cheaper to send this stuff to Ukraine than it would be for the government to pay to have all this old equipment decommissioned. The number quoted is just the monetary value the equipment had when it was new.
