I've considered starting on html5, css, php, and javascript but it seems so far off from what I've already learned that I'm worried I'll have wasted my time this past year.

I have an associates in biological sciences but the only jobs I could find with it were terrible paying so I just work construction now.

I was watching a guy code a minecraft mod for about three hours the other day. It seems like everybody is suggesting joining an open source project so that's probably what I'll look into next.

Web apps sound cool but I thought that was more JavaScript stuff. I'll check out mobile apps because they don't seem too hard to make and I'm sure there's a ton of jobs for that stuff.

I would have no idea how to go about that but I'll look into it.
I do like programming. I wouldn't have spent 500+ hours of my free time learning it this past year if I didn't! It's just at this point I'm desperate to get into the industry so that programming can move from a side thing to my main focus in life.
