Comment on: What programming language is good for a beginner?
K. If you are serious about becoming a programmer then I suggest starting with the book that MIT taught to first year students. Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs. They have the whole course for it on MIT along with many of free programming classes. But, SICP is a great start so you can learn to manipulate base systems and understand them. If you start with a higher level language you'll miss out on a lot of information and basically be using a language without knowing exactly how or what it is doing. It's a great start and from there you can move on to lower level systems or higher level languages, but being able to grasp what if happening. This is of course if you want to invest in being the best. Save OO for once you already know how to program.

100% agree woth you. I basically only go to meetings to browse the net and text people. When asked something I typically say "I already developed that." "I am already working on that." or "Me and name are working on that." And I am left alone even if I am not.

The data for those two topics seems to be scattered all across the internet. I guess I'll just have to compile a list of sites so that those in my situation wont have to be in the same situation I'm currently in. =o
PHP is not a programming language, it is a scripting language, and does not work on every system.
