Comment on: OKAY WHAT IS GOING ON - Huge Auto-Mod Ban Waves?
I'm a centrist that leans Liberal on social topics and Conservative on financial topics. I find myself having to mute so many subreddits because of the hate going both ways. Echo chambers are terrible for growth. All you see anywhere are people name calling and misusing words because they can't have a discussion that challenges their views. Earlier I talked about how the internet likes to lump Liberals in with the far left and Conservatives in with the far right. Its a terrible thing.

The bad thing about the words "Liberal" and "Conservative" in regards to politics, is that they are often grouped with "Far Left" and "Far Right". This really only seems to be an internet thing.
I work with the public and most everyone that I talk to (I'm a bartender a couple nights a week) have both liberal and conservative views. The people that run to the internet and scream the loudest are the ones who have a hard time finding people to relate to in real life.
Any rational person would agree that the way the far left and far right conduct themselves is garbage. In the same respect any rational person can sit and have a conversation about their views and be opened to them being challenged. The ones who make broad assumptions only want to live in an echo chamber and have their views validated instead of challenged.
