Merely sharing a conference I attended and an interesting fact. I don't have the facts in front of me, because someone had them and presented them.

I went to a conference after the 737 Max issues, and it was all about the decline of "safety" as a priority at a management level. In the 1970s, the Boeing annual executive report mentioned "safety" dozens of times. By 2017, that number was near zero. The company, over time, reprioritized safety below other goals.
