Comment on: Fry's Electronics is closing all stores. Website will go down soon.
Supposedly they were re-tooling into an outlet chain but I guess it didn't pan out.
Fry's was never my preferred place to buy stuff but they were helpful in a pinch and several years ago they had a good selection of tech items. I had no qualms about telling anyone asking me about mice or keyboards or such "just go see what they have at Fry's." When I bought my house I ran new plenum CAT6A cable in the walls with a spool purchased on sale there. I still remember a Christmas season one year I made the mistake of driving over there and the parking lot was SO full. I couldn't even get in, the line of cars was insane.
The last items I bought were rechargeable AA's for my VR controllers. Oh well.

Comment on: Solar is now ‘cheapest electricity in history’, confirms IEA
I like solar but I don't understand enough about the energy needed to create the panels vs. the energy those panels will generate over time. Also, I remember there were issues with storing excess power and compensating for weather being what weather is along with that whole "nighttime" thing.
