It's an ancient, tried, and tested tactic: Play the victim while being the culprit. Non-Muslims do not understand the end-goal of Islam. Rather than look into the religion, its history, its stated objectives, and its ambiguous version of "morality", they just buy into the "oppressed minority" line that fits into their self-guilt agenda. You're comparing personal taste of food to the slaughter of a group or groups of people. That's what we call a false dichotomy. Look, you seem like you are a fairly intelligent. Maybe it's time to review the content of your religious affiliation and the content of the book you claim to be the "perfect word of God". You admit that it contains calls to violence, murder, and prejudice, yet you don't seem like the type of person who would personally advocate for such acts. Take a good look at what you're OK with vs what your religion preaches, and seriously ask yourself if the puzzle pieces fit together. Have a nice day.
