Alexa and Ring devices are going to start sharing their internet connections. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess people who have smart devices are less concerned about privacy than might be hoped.

tl;dr: github won't give over source code for a new DNA analysis program that was used to convict him. His lawyers and the sofware maker's lawyers couldn't agree on non-disclosure terms and the court wouldn't sign off on either because it lacked oversight of the review of the code.
