That counts as inciting violence. I'm a little surprised you didn't get at least a temp ban from Reddit entirely for that since they hand them out for comments that are obviously sarcastic all the time.

Technically different. Shadowbanning is done by Reddit The Company and is site-wide. Your profile just doesn't even show up. As far as everyone who is not an admin knows, if you're shadowbanned then your account does not even exist. What mods do to emulate this is set up automod to automatically silently remove any comments (only within the sub they mod) from users on a blacklist.

It is, however, an important distinction to note that this was done with automod. That means it's done by the subreddit mods specifically, not Reddit as a company or site as a whole. The title makes it sound like a site thing. Reddit signs off their official shit, well, officially, so it would be from something like "Reddit Anti-Evil" or even just "Reddit".
